Cookies & Data Policy
Yuno uses analytics cookies set by Google Analytics and local storage set by Statsig. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any cookies that identify you personally. You can opt out or block them at any time without losing access to any feature of Yuno.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are stored in your browser and sent back to the website on subsequent visits. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site owner about how their site is being used.
Cookies are not programs and cannot run code or install software. They cannot access other files on your device.
In addition to cookies, some tools use browser local storage — a similar mechanism that stores data in your browser but does not send it back to the server on every request. This policy covers both cookies and local storage used on Yuno.
2. Cookies and Storage Yuno Uses
Yuno uses a minimal set of analytics cookies and local storage entries. We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, personalisation cookies, or any cookies that build a profile of you across websites.
The cookies and storage entries on Yuno come from two tools: Google Analytics and Statsig. Both are used solely to understand how people use the product so we can make informed decisions about what to build next.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Type | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated identifier. Used to calculate visit, session, and campaign data for analytics reports. | Analytics — persistent cookie | 2 years from last activity |
| _ga_<id> | Google Analytics 4 (GA4) | Stores and updates the session state for Google Analytics 4. The <id> suffix is specific to the Yuno measurement ID. | Analytics — persistent cookie | 2 years from last activity |
| statsig-stable-id | Statsig | Stores a pseudonymous session identifier used to associate events and interactions within a visit. Used for product analytics and session replay. | Analytics — local storage | Persists until cleared |
| statsig-* | Statsig | Additional local storage entries used by Statsig to cache configuration and feature flag state for the current session. | Functional — local storage | Persists until cleared |
No personal identification
The identifiers stored by Google Analytics and Statsig are randomly generated strings. They are not linked to your name, email address, IP address, or any other information that could identify you as an individual. Analytics data is reported to us in aggregated or pseudonymous form only.
3. Cookies We Do Not Use
To be explicit, Yuno does not use any of the following:
- Advertising or targeting cookies — we run no ads and do not work with ad networks
- Social media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, Twitter/X Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.)
- Personalisation cookies that remember your preferences between visits
- Authentication or session cookies — Yuno has no login system
- Third-party cookies from any provider other than Google Analytics
If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated before any new cookies are placed.
4. How Google Uses Analytics Data
Google Analytics is operated by Google LLC. When you visit Yuno, Google Analytics collects data about your visit including pages viewed, time spent, device type, browser, and approximate geographic location (city and country level, derived from IP address). Your raw IP address is not stored.
Google processes this data as a data processor on our behalf, under a Data Processing Agreement. Google is not permitted to use this data for its own advertising or profiling purposes when collected through Google Analytics in this configuration.
5. How Statsig Uses Data
Statsig is a product analytics and feature measurement platform operated by Statsig, Inc. When you use Yuno, Statsig records the events you trigger — such as clicking a button, generating a font pairing, or switching tabs — along with the timing and sequence of those interactions.
Statsig also uses a session replay plugin that records a reconstruction of your screen interactions — mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling — during your visit. This recording does not capture passwords, payment information, or any data you type into form fields.
Statsig processes this data as a data processor on our behalf. It is not permitted to use your data for its own purposes. Event data is retained for 90 days and session replays are retained for 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted.
6. Your Choices
You have several options for controlling cookies and local storage. None of them will prevent you from using any feature of Yuno, since we do not use cookies for anything the site depends on to function.
6.1 Google Analytics opt-out
Google provides a browser add-on that prevents your data from being collected by Google Analytics across all websites. You can download it at: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Once installed, the add-on instructs the Google Analytics JavaScript to not send visit information to Google. This applies to all websites using Google Analytics, not just Yuno.
6.2 Statsig local storage opt-out
Statsig stores its session identifier in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. You can clear local storage data through your browser's developer tools or privacy settings. Clearing local storage will remove the Statsig identifier and start a new anonymous session the next time you visit.
6.3 Browser cookie and storage controls
Every modern browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies and local storage. The steps vary by browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
Blocking the Google Analytics cookies and clearing Statsig local storage will prevent us from counting your visit in our analytics, but will not change anything about how Yuno works for you.
6.4 Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites. Yuno does not currently respond to DNT signals in a way that disables Google Analytics or Statsig, because neither tool collects personally identifiable information and the DNT standard remains inconsistently implemented across browsers. You can use the opt-out options in sections 6.1 and 6.2 above for reliable opt-out.
7. Cookie Consent
The cookies and local storage entries used on Yuno are analytics only. Under GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, analytics cookies that do not identify individuals and are used solely for aggregate statistical purposes may be set without prior consent in some jurisdictions, provided users are clearly informed and given the ability to opt out.
We inform you of our cookie and storage use through this policy, which is linked from the Yuno footer. Opt-out options are provided in section 6 above.
If you are visiting from a jurisdiction that requires explicit consent for all non-essential cookies and tracking (including analytics), you may wish to use the browser controls in section 6.3 to block Google Analytics cookies and clear Statsig local storage before browsing.
8. Retention
The _ga and _ga_<id> cookies expire two years from the date of your last visit to Yuno. Google Analytics retains the underlying analytics data for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted from Google's servers.
Statsig local storage entries persist in your browser until you clear them manually. Statsig retains event data for 90 days and session replay recordings for 30 days, after which both are automatically deleted from Statsig's servers.
You can delete cookies and local storage at any time via your browser settings without affecting your ability to use Yuno.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if we add new features that require additional cookies or storage, or if our analytics setup changes. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document and post the revised policy.
We will not add new categories of cookies (such as advertising or tracking cookies) without updating this policy first.
